Creating more Art

Finished up a collaborative effort painting a long silk scarf. The three of us have never worked with silk painting, so it was an experiment and a journey into the unknown. Not knowing how this was going to turn out, I think it came out fabulous. I love how the colors go from light to dark – it looks like a coral reef. I hope, after we have heat set it, that we can hang it at the gallery. Its quite long, but there are walls that could accommodate a large piece like this.
Okay, now the particulars: the silk was obtained from the Dharma Trading Co, the inks/dyes are colorfast from Luminere. I ironed the scarf onto the waxy side of freezer paper to stabilize the silk while we painted. I will follow up next week with the final results. Let me know what you think!
